Donation Help

Can I specify what project I want my donation to go to?

Your money will go to the current DEC Appeal. If no Appeal is running your money will go to the next DEC appeal - the DEC is unable to earmark funds for specific projects, member agencies or areas.

Do I have to donate online?

No, you can send a cheque, charitable cheque or voucher. There are various ways to donate.

I can’t find the donation section on your webpage.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal donation page is only available for a limited period of time after a disaster. If you find that the link is unavailable the DEC has therefore closed the online donation page. If you have any further difficulties please telephone our donation help desk on 0844 800 4884.

I want to make an anonymous donation. How do I do this?

You can donate to the appeal by sending a cheque, charitable cheque or voucher. See the various ways to donate.

What do I do if I have a problem with my donation?

If you have a problem with your donation please call the DEC Helpdesk on 0844 800 4884

Why do you use an 0370 number?

Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than calls to numbers beginning 01 and 02 and could be party of any inclusive call minutes or discount schemes.
International access to 0370 numbers should be charged at international rates - i.e. there should not be a premium in calling a UK 0370 number as opposed to calling a UK 01 or 02 number. However, access to 0370 internationally is not guaranteed.
If you do not wish to use this number you can donate online at www.dec.org.uk, or by sending a cheque, charitable voucher, at a bank or post office.

Does the DEC incur credit card commission fees?

No, the DEC does not pay any commission fees.
