Tell us about your event and register
Thank you for choosing to fundraise for the DEC, we wish you all the best and we're sure you'll be able to put on a fantastic event. Organising an event is a fantastic way to support the DEC as it not only raises money for our appeals but also awareness of what we do. To help you get started please download our Fundraising Pack.
Next step is to complete the Event Registration Form to register your event.
When running an event you must consider your budget – if you don’t have any money left over after any essential costs are deducted, you won’t have any money to donate!
You may also need to consider issues such as health and safety, and even insurance, depending on the nature of your event. Particularly for events you are planning to run in public places, you may want to contact your local council or police for advice.
A good way to raise money and awareness for the DEC is to get sponsored by challenging yourself take part in a marathon, sky dive or something fun like growing a moustache or wearing a comedy wig to work. Download the Sponsorship Form and the Fundraising Pack, to help you put your event together.
Also keep a look-out for local sponsored events.

Raffles and Lotteries
These are especially good if you can persuade local businesses and friends to donate prizes.
Please consult The Institute of Fundraising before organising a raffle or lottery as the UK has strict laws you must follow.
