Darfur and Chad Crisis Appeal: Concern
Launch date 24th May 2007
Programme Summary July 2007
Concern Worldwide: DEC Fund Allocation - £180,000
What is your DEC Appeal disasters response programme seeking to achieve?
To facilitate an appropriate level of humanitarian response and reduce the vulnerability of over 75,000 conflict-affected people in the volatile and complex environment of south-east Chad. (This will be achieved through improved site management of displaced people settlements, and analysis of the vulnerability of all conflict affected populations in the target area, and the potential durable solutions to address such vulnerabilities.)
Most displaced people fled their homes with little or nothing having seen their villages burnt and looted of household possessions and livestock. Overall, communities that previously co-existed peacefully, using traditional conflict resolution structures and processes have seen neighbouring villages and tribes turn against them.
In Chad
Site management and coordination will assist 18,258 households.
