What about long-term help? Isn’t this just "sticking plaster"?
This is very important life-saving sticking plaster. We try to save lives in the short term so that people have the chance of a long-term future. Our role is to keep people alive and enable them to get back on their feet, knowing that the root causes of the crisis must be addressed in a different way. Humanitarian aid can make a difference, but only peace can make a long-term difference.
