DEC Philippines Typhoon Appeal reaches £67 million

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) today announced that their appeal for people affected by the Philippines typhoon has raised £67 million.

DEC Chief Executive Saleh Saeed said:

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of the UK public since we announced the appeal less than three weeks ago.

“Aid is getting through, and our member agencies and partners have reached more than 700,000 people. But rebuilding is a long-term effort, and we would urge people to continue donating so our member agencies can reach even more people with food, water, shelter and medical care.”
