HM The King hears about Pakistan Floods Appeal

His Majesty The King met with representatives from the charities of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) today to hear about the impact of UK donations to the Pakistan Floods Appeal which helped hundreds of people in the first six months of the response.

Mobile health clinics provide a lifeline to flood survivors

The devastating floods that hit Pakistan last summer swept away homes, destroyed livelihoods and left remote communities cut off from essential services. One of the less visible, but no less important, impacts of the floods was on people’s health and access to healthcare.

Preparing for further climate disasters in Pakistan

Pakistan is among the top ten countries in the world most affected by climate change. In the immediate aftermath of the 2022 floods, DEC charities provided emergency relief and funds from the appeal are now helping communities to rebuild their livelihoods. This includes training rural communities in climate-smart farming techniques to help build their resilience to future disasters.
