We are closely monitoring a number of humanitarian disasters and assessing them against our criteria for launching an appeal. Often our member charities are responding to these crises already and we encourage people who wish to help to donate to them.

The milestone total also includes donations from DEC corporate partners and longstanding supporters, as well as £10 million matched by the UK Government as part of its UK Aid Match scheme.

Conflict in the Middle East has devastated lives across the region, and millions have fled their homes in search of safety. The humanitarian needs are incredibly high.
