We’re an international charity committed to saving the lives of malnourished children and supporting their families to beat hunger.

For more than 40 years, we’ve led the global movement that aims to end life-threatening hunger for good within our lifetimes. Our teams are on the front lines – treating and preventing malnutrition in some of the world’s most remote places.

We empower people to provide for themselves, see their children grow up strong, and help their communities prosper.

Why our work matters

Around the world, 690 million people go to bed hungry every night. Nearly half of all child deaths worldwide are from causes related to hunger and undernutrition, even though most of the causes are predictable, preventable and treatable.

Our programmes tackle both the causes and effects of hunger. Our main areas of work include:

  • nutrition
  • water, sanitation and hygiene
  • mental health care and support
  • responding to emergencies
  • reducing the risk of disasters and their impacts on hunger
  • ensuring people have enough food so they can build a better future
  • campaigning for change
