Sahar runs a women's organisation in Gaza. When the conflict escalated she was unable to access even the most basic supplies for her family, despite having provided humanitarian aid to members of her community for years. Sahar's neighbourhood and her office were both detroyed but this did not stop her and the team at the Palestinian Development Women Studies Association (PDWSA) delivering urgent food and shelter support to women and their families. Dr Niveen is a psychologist providing mental health support for children in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has had a devatating impact on children's lives, with many suffering from physical and emotional trauma. Dr Niveen and her team at the Palestine Red Crescent Society work despite their personal grief and exhaustion. This critical work funded by the DEC through the British Red Cross is helping children heal through expressing their feelings in a safe, supported space.

Anwar is a water engineer providing safe water, sanitation and hygiene support to families across the Gaza Strip. He is also a loving husband and father whose family have been displaced ten times. Despite their personal grief and hardship, Anwar continues to draw strength from his humanitarian work and maintains hope for a better life. His work is made possible by donations to the DEC appeal that fund water programmes delivered by Concern Worldwide.

Farah is an aid worker in Lebanon who delivers food, clean water and other essential supplies to families living in tents or temporary shelters in the Bekaa Valley. She and her colleagues are living through the same crisis as the people they support, often staying awake through the night due to the airstrikes, and then being ready the next morning to reach the families who are counting on their support. Donations to the Middle East Humanitarian Appeal are funding this work delivered by DEC charity Islamic Relief.

Cyril knows firsthand how living through conflict impacts every aspect of life in Lebanon. Some of the displaced people his team supports are unable to articulate what they need when they flee their homes in traumatic circumstances, so their work begins by providing psychological first aid. Donations to the Middle East Humanitarian Appeal are funding this work including supporting women and girls living in shelters with hygiene items and other essential aid delivered through DEC charity CARE International.
