HRH The Duke of Cambridge speaks to Syrian aid workers on DEC video call

7 April 2021

DEC Chief Executive Saleh Saeed was delighted to welcome His Royal Highness Prince William onto a call with Syrian aid workers.

Disaster monitoring

We are closely monitoring a number of humanitarian disasters and assessing them against our criteria for launching an appeal. Often our member charities are responding to these crises already and we encourage people who wish to help to donate to them.

What we do with your money

The DEC only funds work by our 15 member charities, which deliver aid directly or through trusted partners to those in need.

What we do

When large-scale disasters hit countries without the capacity to respond, the DEC brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently.
