The DEC launched an appeal after an outbreak of Ebola spread from Guinea to Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Senegal. This appeal is now closed and all funds have been spent.

The Middle East Humanitarian Appeal is closing for donations at the end of October 2026, but DEC fuds will continue providing vital support until the end of January 2027.Many DEC member charities are continuing their vital work in the region, and continue to welcome donations to their appeals.
