World Humanitarian Day is an international day dedicated to honouring humanitarian workers and celebrating the incredible work they do across the world. This year it also marks 60 years since the first DEC appeal was launched.

When large-scale disasters hit countries without the capacity to respond, the DEC brings together 15 leading aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently.

On 1 September 2022, the DEC launched the Pakistan Floods Appeal after heavy monsoon rains led to the worst flooding on record. The appeal raised £46.5 million in the first six months. This report looks at how DEC funds have been used to support communities affected by the disater in the immediate aftermath and the first phase of the response.
