A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake has devastated huge areas of Myanmar. People urgently need help to survive.

Families have been living outside in makeshift shelters since the earthquake, and are now exposed to the monsoon rains and a growing risk of disease.

The scale of the destruction is vast. Countless homes, schools, businesses and areas of farmland were destroyed.

Myanmar was already facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with a third of the population in need of humanitarian aid. Now the situation is catastrophic.

Donations to the Myanmar Earthquake Appeal are providing vital support as people begin to look towards the future in these devastating circumstances. DEC charities urgently need more funds to continue reaching some of the most vulnerable.

How can you help?

You can help people affected by the earthquake by making a donation and helping to raise money for the DEC appeal. This will allow DEC charities and their local partners to provide shelter, medical care, food, water, cash support and other lifesaving aid.
