The DEC has a small team who carry out the day-to-day running of the organisation. When we launch an appeal, staff seconded from member charities, freelancers and creative agencies form a larger pop-up team.

Board of trustees

Trustees ensure that the DEC remains true to its charitable purpose and objectives and complies with charity law. They are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Report and the financial statement.

Ebola Crisis Appeal

The DEC launched an appeal after an outbreak of Ebola spread from Guinea to Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Senegal. This appeal is now closed and all funds have been spent.

Gaza Crisis Appeal 2014

This appeal is now closed. Thanks to generous donations from the public more that £19 million was raised for people affected by the crisis.

Pakistan Floods Appeal 2010

The DEC launched an appeal after unprecedented monsoon rains caused devastating floods in July 2010. This appeal is now closed and all funds have been spent.
